Calling it ”a lucky play Authentic Tyquan Lewis Jersey ,” Jamie Benn stole the puck from Tomas Hertl and scored the go-ahead goal with 3:06 left before tacking on an empty-netter for the hat trick in the Dallas Stars‘ 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night.
”It was just a read,” Benn said. ”I’ll take it.”
So will the Stars, who ended a seven-game road losing streak.
”We played our best third period in a long time,” coach Ken Hitchcock said.
Mike McKenna, who replaced an injured Kari Lehtonen, got the victory after stopping all 17 shots he faced. McKenna last played in the NHL for the Arizona Coyotes on Feb. 16, 2015.
”It’s fulfilling getting a win,” McKenna said. ”It was fun to be part of this win. It’s not anything I haven’t seen before. Sometimes you lean on your experience.”
Dallas’ Gemel Smith tied it at 2 with 5:17 left. Devon Shore won a battle along the boards and rushed the net Youth B.J. Hill Jersey , tapping it to Smith at the last second.
Logan Couture set a career high with his 33rd goal and Timo Meier scored No. 20 for the Sharks, who lost their fourth straight.
”You’re concerned any time you lose a lead,” Sharks coach Peter DeBoer said. ”Again, we played good enough tonight to score four goals and we should have won. We didn’t, and we didn’t handle that as well as we could have in the third. For me, the big mistake was not putting them away when we had the chance, not the third period.”
Lehtonen left with an upper-body injury with 4:06 remaining in the first period. He took a puck to the facemask. Hitchcock said he should be OK for Friday’s game in Los Angeles. Lehtonen saved 12 of 14 shots.
Couture put the Sharks ahead 1-0 when he got a pass from Brent Burns and fired it into the net from long range midway through the first period.
Meier added to the lead six minutes later after chasing down a puck that had bounced off Lehtonen’s pads. He fired from the right side, finding a hole under Lehtonen’s glove.
”You don’t want to be on your heels Youth Rasheem Green Jersey ,” Meier said. ”We were on our heels and you can’t do that late in the season. A thing like that can’t happen again.”
Benn made it 2-1 late in the second period, redirecting a centering pass from John Klingberg off Martin Jones‘ shoulder pad and into the net.
”After the second period we regrouped and refocused,” Benn said. ”We found a way to put together 20 good minutes and found a way to win.”
NOTES: Benn has points in 10 of his last 13 games. … Stars C Tyler Seguin has points in each of his past four games and six of seven overall. … Sharks F Evander Kane missed the game with an apparent arm injury suffered at Las Vegas on Saturday night. … Sharks C Dylan Gambrell made his NHL debut. … The Sharks signed Sasha Chmelevski to a contract and assigned him to the AHL Barracudas.

Stars: Play at the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.

Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay said the team has increased its "level of urgency" in negotiations with defensive end Aaron Donald.
Donald, a three-time first-team All-Pro, is holding out of training camp for the second consecutive year as he seeks a contract extension. His rookie contract will end after this season, but because he didn't report by Wednesday, he will be a restricted free agent after the season instead of an unrestricted free agent. The Rams could also use the franchise tag on Donald, who is set to make $6.9 million this season.
"Let's put it this way Youth Chicago Bears Jerseys , there's an increased dialogue," McVay said Saturday. "We feel positive about the direction that these things are going. But it's still kind of in the same boat, but I know there is a huge level of urgency from our side in terms of how important he is, wanting to be proactive about trying to find a solution, get this thing done and we'll see if we can get that situation handled."
General manager Les Snead said Wednesday that the Rams and Donald, the 2017 defensive player of the year, are in the "same ZIP code, area code Denard Span Seattle Mariners Jersey , ballpark" regarding a contract extension.
Donald has recorded at least eight sacks in each of his four seasons with the Rams, including 11 last season, when he missed all of training camp and reported the day before their season opener.

MILAN, Italy -- Serie A leader Juventus remained on course for a third straight title with a 3-0 victory over second-placed Roma, which was forced to play with nine men for the final 13 minutes on Sunday. Authentic Wes Hopkins Jersey . It was a 10th successive win for Antonio Contes team and saw it extend its lead at the top of the table to eight points at the halfway stage of the season. It was Romas first loss of the season. "Our statistics are impressive and show that we fully deserve to be top of the table, clearing away any type of doubts," Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon said. "Today we won thanks to several incidents which we made the most of. While they were in the game, Roma showed they are a team to be feared, they are not second by chance. Roma impressed me for the first hour." Juventus was in complete control following goals from Arturo Vidal and Leonardo Bonucci but Roma was still fighting to get back in the game. However, Daniele De Rossi was sent off for a brutal tackle on Giorgio Chiellini and Leandro Castan was also shown a straight red card two minutes later after he handled on the goalline. Mirko Vucinic fired home the resulting penalty against his former club. "We had so much possession but we werent efficient up front," Roma coach Rudi Garcia said. "For me thats the problem. We didnt have many chances but Buffon had a good first half, but they didnt have many chances either. "We have to be stronger in the future to be able to win these matches, but the title race isnt over, it hasnt ended here, there are still 60 points at stake. We have to get back to winning as soon as possible. Our aim is to return to Europe, we are second so we are in the right spot." Earlier, Fiorentina beat Livorno 1-0 in the Tuscan derby and Cagliari drew 0-0 at Chievo Verona as Serie A resumed following a winter break. There was bad news for Fiorentina as star striker Giuseppe Rossi was injured again. Rossi, who is the top scorer in Serie A, limped off in the second period with what appeared to be a knee injury. The United States-born player has only recently recovered from two years of injuries and several surgeries. Juventus was boosted by the return of key playmaker Andrea Pirlo from a five-week injury layoff, but it was Roma which started the brighter and Gianluigi Buffon had to rush out smartly to close down Adem Ljajic after six minutes. Roma had more possession and several half chances but Juventus looked dangerous on the counter -- cheered on vociferously by the home fans -- and took the lead in the 17th minute with its first real opportunity. Carlos Tevez spun and threaded the ball through for Vidal to beat the offside trap and slot into the back of the net. Juventus almost doubled its lead shortly before halftime when Tevez rolled a tantalizing ball across the face of goal but no one could get on the end of it for the tap-in. The home side did score again immediately after the break when Bonucci was left unmarked at the far post and the Juventus defender slid in to turn home a Pirlo free kick. There was bad news for Juventus as Tevez went off injured on the hour mark. Romas hopes of a comeback diminished following De Rossis moment of madness and all but evaporated when Castan followed him. In Tuscany, Fiorentina struggled at times before grinding out a 1-0 win against struggling Livorno. Livorno almost took the lead shortly before Fiorentina scored, when Ibrahima Mbaye was left unmarked but headed off the crossbar. The visitors went close again when Paulinho rounded Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto but Rodriguez got back to clear off the line. Fiorentina moved provisionally level on points with third-placed Napoli, which hosts Sampdoria on Monday. Livorno remained two points off safety. Earlier, Cagliari missed a penalty as it was held to a 0-0 draw at lowly Chievo Verona. Mauricio Pinilla blasted his spot kick over the bar in the 66th minute after the Chilean forward had been tripped by Bostjan Cesar. It was the first penalty Chievo had conceded all season. Both teams struggled to create any scoring opportunities. Chievos best chance came with its first sight of goal, just before the hour mark, when Cyril Thereaus effort scraped past the outside of the post. Taylor Hall returned from injury to score a pair of goals and Devan Dubnyk made 38 saves for the Oilers, who have lost three in a row on the road and fell to 5-9-1 as the guest this season. "We were not near as engaged as 18 skaters as we needed to be," said Oilers coach Tom Renney. Edmonton will then hit the road again for a seven-game trek from Dec. 26-Jan. 7. Edmonton and San Jose are playing the first of four meetings this season. It’s great to play well Barkevious Mingo Jersey Elite , even better to win.
That’s how the Tampa Bay Lightning view a 2-0 series lead over the New Jersey Devils.
”As a coach, you care about everything. You’d like to say you played the perfect game, but somebody else has a vote out there,” coach Jon Cooper said Saturday after a 5-3 victory in Game 2 of the first-round matchup.
”When we wake up tomorrow, you look back and say: `OK, which parts of the game did we do well.’ And we’ll be able to look at a lot of that tape and say we did really well. And we’ll look at some and say that wasn’t so good,” Cooper added. ”I’m pretty sure New Jersey is going to do the exact same thing. It’s the playoffs. There’s going to be battles, there’s going to be swings of momentum, but the big thing for me is who won the game.”
Alex Killorn scored twice during a four-goal second period, and Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 18 shots in the final period to hold off the pesky Devils.
”We did bend a little bit in the third but didn’t break http://www.chargersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-kyzir-white-jersey , so it’s a good feeling to be up 2-0,” Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman said. ”You’ve got to win the game. That’s the bottom line.”
The Atlantic Division champions scored three times in a 2:47 span in the second period, and the reeling Devils pulled goalie Keith Kinkaid after Killorn’s third goal in two games made it 5-1 with 6:48 remaining in the period.
Kinkaid, whose stellar play since January helped New Jersey finish strong and claim its first playoff berth since 2012, yielded five goals on 15 shots.
Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point and Tyler Johnson also scored for Tampa Bay, which is up 2-0 in the series after going 0-2-1 against the Devils during the regular season.
Game 3 is Monday night in Newark, New Jersey.
The Devils have played well in spurts, overcoming slow starts to keep both games interesting.
”There’s a lot of good things in our game to like,” Devils leading scorer Taylor Hall said. ”It’s a long series. They still have to win two more to put us out Dallas Goedert Color Rush Jersey , and we’re going to battle on home ice to get that back.”
Devils coach John Hynes echoed that sentiment.
”We have to embrace the fact that we’re down 2-0,” Hynes said. ”What I mean by that is we can say we had strong pushes in certain things, but I think we did take a step tonight. We have to win one game. We’ve got to play good once, and we’ve got to have that on Monday.”
Vasilevskiy stopped 41 shots, while limiting the Devils to rookie Nico Hischier’s unassisted goal in the opening period and Sami Vatanen’s sixth career playoff goal late in the second before Blake Coleman’s third-period tally trimmed Tampa Bay’s lead to 5-3 with eight minutes left.
Goalie Cory Schneider came off the bench to help the Devils stay in the game with 10 saves, nine in the final period.
Hynes wasn’t ready to discuss whether he’ll change starting goaltenders for the next game. Kinkaid was a big part of New Jersey’s success after Schneider went down with groin and hip injuries in January, earning the right to start his first playoff series.
”I thought Cory came in and played really well,” Hynes said. ”I’m not going to speculate on whether we’re going to use him or not use him.”
Five players scored in the Lightning’s 5-2 victory in Game 1, with just one of the goals coming from the team’s top line of Kucherov, Steven Stamkos and J.T. Miller – Kucherov’s empty-netter with a little over a minute remaining.
Tampa Bay’s second and third lines once again did most of the damage Joel Iyiegbuniwe Jersey Bears , with Point scoring at 12:15 of the first period and Killorn, Johnson and Kucherov adding goals during a three-minute stretch of the second to build a 4-1 lead.
Both of Killorn’s goals came on power plays. Kucherov’s second of the series deflected off Vatanen’s stick into New Jersey’s net.
Vasilevskiy stopped 29 of 31 shots in the opener and was outstanding again Saturday. New Jersey outshot the Lightning 44-25, including 19-9 over the final 20 minutes.
”We did a great job in the third period. Too little, too late, but I think we showed fight,” Schneider said. ”It is what it is. They’re a good team at home. They protected home ice and now we have to try to go back and do the same in our building.”
Notes: Hirschier was New Jersey’s second-leading scorer during the regular season with 52 points, 41 fewer than Hall. At 19 years, 100 days, he became the youngest player in franchise history to score a playoff goal. … Lightning RW Ryan Callahan left the game late in the second period with an upper body injury and did not return. … Kucherov, Tampa Bay’s leading scorer this season Jamal Adams Jets Jersey , has 46 points (24 goals, 22 assists) in 47 career playoff games.

The San Francisco 49ers have signed offensive lineman Laken Tomlinson to a three-year contract extension through the 2021 season.
The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Tomlinson started 15 games for the 49ers at left guard last season.
He was acquired from the Lions last summer. Detroit made Tomlinson the 28th overall selection in the 2015 draft. In all, he has appeared in 47 NFL games.
”Laken is a very talented player who has improved consistently since joining the team one week before last year’s season opener,” 49ers general manager John Lynch said. ”This offseason, his hard work and dedication paid off as he continued to progress and performed at a high level. We were confident we could work out a contract extension with Laken and we are fired up to get that done before training camp.”
The 26-year-old Tomlinson was a 2014 All-America lineman at Duke.

Cagliari extended its unbeaten run to seven, while Chievo snapped a run of two defeats and moved provisionally two points off the relegation zone. Zach Ertz Jersey . Mario Balotellis 54th-minute penalty secured a 2-1 win for Italy over the Czech Republic to seal first place in Group B, while Robin van Persies second-half double in a 2-0 win at Andorra guaranteed the Dutch top spot in Group D. PAUL, Minn.(Sports Network) - The Edmonton Oilers are in the midst of playing 10 of 12 games on the road and will close out a three-game swing tonight against the San Jose Sharks. It dropped the opener of the trek by a 3-0 score at Calgary, then was doubled up by Phoenix in a 4-2 setback on Thursday. Renneys club has just five wins in the last 17 games (5-11-1) and will return home for two games after their tilt with the Sharks. — One of the great leaders football has seen Josh Jackson Jersey Packers , Ray Lewis used his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction speech to call for more enlightened leadership in the United States. The last of the seven members of the class of 2018 on hand to be enshrined, Lewis eschewed notes and the lectern, instead strolling along the stage and passionately urging his listeners to come together. “Are you living every day to make this world better?” Lewis asked Saturday night at the end of his 33-minute oratory, often invoking the teachings of Martin Luther King. “Think what we can do if we work together as a country … teaching our nation to love each other again. “It’s how we react to the challenges in our life that shows our greatness. How do we execute that dream? Who will answer that knock on the door in the middle of the night? And it has to start right now. We need people willing to fight for what is good and what is right.” Turning to the 140 Hall of Famers on the stage, he told them: “We can go from being legends to building a legacy bigger than football, bigger than sports. Look at what unites us … the answer is simple, love. Hope, faith and love, and the greatest is love.” Lewis was joined by Randy Moss, Brian Dawkins, Brian Urlacher, Jerry Kramer, Robert Brazile and Bobby Beathard as inductees at the hall ceremony. One of the best linebackers in NFL history, Lewis won two Super Bowls with the Ravens; he often chanted “BALTIMORE!” during his speech. “Tell me something can’t be done is like pouring lighter fluid on an open flame,” said Lewis, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year who won a second Super Bowl for the 2012 season — coming back from a torn triceps — then retired. He was the MVP of the 2001 title game. “I came back, and boy did I come back,” Lewis said. “When you walk off the last time with that thing, that Lombardi, it’s a confirmation I am living proof of the impossible.” A first-year nominee, Lewis was selected 26th overall in the 1996 draft — what were other teams thinking? He wasn’t even Baltimore’s first choice: Jonathan Ogden was Cheap Jonathan Cooper Jersey , and the big tackle made the Hall of Fame in 2013. His impact was immediate, both on the field, in the locker room, and even in pregame introductions, when his “squirrel dance” fired up fans and teammates alike. He and Ogden even did a short version on the stage. Lewis was the first player with 40 sacks and 30 interceptions in a career. An eight-time All-Pro and inside linebacker on the 2000s NFL All-Decade Team, he had a franchise-record 2,643 career tackles. Dawkins also delivered a powerful speech and, as he promised, cried during it. One of the hardest-hitting and most versatile safeties in NFL history, Dawkins stared at his bust and nodded his approval to the crowd. “The majority of success I have had has come on the back end of pain,” he said noting he had suicidal thoughts when he battled depression. “On the other side of it, all of a sudden I became better. There’s a purpose for my pain. “I have grown leaps and bounds because of the things I went through. For those going through this now, there is hope on the other side. Keep moving, keep pushing through.” Dawkins was the leader of an Eagles defense that made four straight NFC championship games and one Super Bowl. Voted to the 2000s NFL All-Decade Team and a five-time All-Pro, Dawkins intercepted passes in 15 consecutive seasons and had 37 picks overall. He averaged nearly 100 tackles a year and spotlighted his versatility as the first player in NFL history to get a sack, interception, fumble recovery and touchdown catch (on a screen pass) in a game, against Houston in 2002. Urlacher became a record-28th Chicago Bear inducted into the hall. A first-year nominee who filled the tradition of great middle linebackers in the Windy City so brilliantly, Urlacher actually was a safety at New Mexico. Chicago selected him ninth overall in the 2000 draft and immediately converted him to linebacker. He spent two weeks in training camp on the outside, then was moved inside — for 13 spectacular seasons. “I love everything about football: the friendships, the coaches Lamar Jackson Youth Jersey , the teachers, the challenges, the opportunity to excel. I loved going to work every day for 13 years,” said the 2000 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and 2005 Defensive Player of the Year, a season in which Urlacher had 171 tackles. The five-time All-Pro and member of the 2000s NFL All-Decade Team even did some work on special teams. But it was in the heart of the defense where he shone. “The most coveted position for a defensive player to play is middle linebacker for the Chicago Bears,” said Urlacher, who had to hold back tears several times. “Just think about it. I hope over my 13 seasons I made you Bears fans proud.” Another first-year nominee, the 6-foot-4, 210-pound Moss brought the perfect combination of height, speed, soft hands and agility to Minnesota as the 21st overall draft pick in 1998 after a rocky college career. His 69 receptions, 17 for touchdowns, and 1,313 yards helped the Vikings go 15-1 and earned him Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. That was just the start for the eccentric but always dynamic Moss. When he finally hooked up with an elite quarterback, he caught a record 23 TD passes from Tom Brady in New England’s perfect 2007 regular season. Moss rubbed the face and top of his bust, then delivered a sermon worthy of any church or synagogue. He paid tribute to his family, to the fans of his five teams, and to his roots in West Virginia 鈥?Bill Belichick made it a priority to get his team prepared for frigid weather leading up to the Patriots’ regular-season finale against the New York Jets. With home-field advantage throughout the playoffs following a 26-6 victory on Sunday, the AFC’s road to the Super Bowl will again run through New England.Dion Lewis ran for a touchdown and caught a scoring pass, helping the Patriots wrap up the top seed. The win clinched the seventh 13-win season for the Patriots (13-3), which is second in NFL history to San Francisco’s nine seasons. It was also Belichick’s 250th career regular-season win Youth DJ Moore Jersey , moving him into a tie with Tom Landry for third all-time among head coaches.New England has defeated New York in four straight meetings, and the Patriots haven’t lost to the Jets (5-11) at home during the regular season with Tom Brady starting since 2006. Brady’s 13th win as a starter this season tied him with Brett Favre for the most by a starting quarterback at age 40 or older.“Our biggest games are ahead of us,” Brady said. “We’re 13-3, that’s the best in the AFC, that’s what we’re playing for, so that’s pretty good.”Lewis finished with a season-high 26 carries for 93 yards . Brandin Cooks had 11 catches for 79 yards and touchdown for New England, which will have a first-round bye in the playoffs. Tight end Rob Gronkowski was held without a catch for the first time this season.James Harrison, signed by New England last Tuesday after being cut by Pittsburgh, had two sacks 鈥?on consecutive plays to end the game 鈥?and finished with five total tackles and a forced fumble.“I always wonder why I’m not playing,” Harrison said when asked if this was statement game for him. “Like they say, it’s never easy and it’s never late. It’s just timing.”Temperatures dipped into the low-teens at kickoff, but it didn’t stop the Patriots from being aggressive at the outset. They won the coin toss and elected to receive, going away from their typical decision to defer until the second half. Brady and the offense went to work, quickly moving 75 yards in just 13 plays to take a 7-0 lead on a 3-yard TD run by Lewis. The drive included a fourth-down pass conversion, one of three hookups between Brady and Danny Amendola in the series.Penalties on the Jets’ defense aided New England’s final two scores of the first half. Safety Marcus Maye was called for a 39-yard pass interference penalty early in the second quarter that set up a 5-yard TD pass from Brady to Cooks that made it 14-3.Then just before halftime, New York cornerback Juston Burris was flagged for defensive holding on a Patriots third-down pass attempt. New England got into the end zone three plays later via another 5-yard TD pass, this time from Brady to Lewis. The Jets’ offense was anemic throughout with Bryce Petty playing the entire game at quarterback after it appeared Christian Hackenberg might see his first regular-season action at some point in the finale. New York was 0 for 12 on third down and 0 for 1 in its lone trip into the red zone.“We stuck together,” linebacker David Bass said. “We went through adversity, ups and downs, but more downs than we wanted. We stuck together through it all.”Patriots safety Devin McCourty said getting the top seed shows the toughness of a team that lost key players such as Julian Edelman and Dont’a Hightower to injury.“Those things we went through, when you wrap up the 2017 season Orlando Cepeda Jersey , molded us, shaped us,” McCourty said. “You look back on all that now, we needed all that.”INJURIESJets: CB Morris Claiborne left briefly in the first quarter, but was able to return. … Maye limped off the field in the second quarter with an ankle injury and did not return. … WR Robby Anderson left after a fourth-quarter hit from Stephon Gilmore to have his head evaluated. Coach Todd Bowles said after the game that Anderson suffered a concussion.Patriots: LB Elandon Roberts was shaken up on a play in the third quarter.ECLIPSING 1,000The Patriots have three players with 1,000-plus scrimmage yards in the same season for the first time in franchise history: Lewis, Gronkowski, Cooks.FRIGID TEMPSIt was 13 degrees at kickoff, and the Patriots wanted to make sure their visitors knew it.A thermometer was hung in the Jets’ tunnel on Sunday. New York players filed past on their way to and from the field before the game .It was the coldest regular-season home game in Patriots history. They had a playoff games that was colder 鈥?a divisional round game against the Tennessee Titans on Jan. 10, 2004, when it was 4 degrees with a wind chill that made it feel like minus 10.Jets safety Jamal Adams went out pregame without a shirt to test the weather. He soon got a text from his mother.“I put my shirt on, real quick,” he said.BELOW 50Brady’s 48.6 completion percentage (18 of 37) marked only the second time this season he completed less than 50 percent of his passes. He completed 44.4 percent (16 of 36) in the Patriots’ season-opening loss to Kansas City. Belgium reached the World Cup semifinals for the first time in 32 years by holding off five-time champion Brazil 2-1 Alex Wood Los Angeles Dodgers Jersey , sending Neymar home without living up to the expectations of being soccer’s most expensive player.
Belgium scored the decisive goal on a counterattack just after a corner had been taken by Neymar. Romelu Lukaku surged forward with the ball and Kevin De Bruyne put it in the net to give Belgium a 2-0 lead in the 31st minute.
Fernandinho’s trailing arm inadvertently helped Belgium captain Vincent Kompany’s header land in his own net in the 13th minute.
Renato Augusto reduced the deficit in the 76th with a header.
But it was too late for Brazil.
NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Russia (AP) – Antoine Griezmann’s fluke goal helped France earn a place in the World Cup semifinals.
Griezmann scored with a shot that bounced off the hands of the opposing goalkeeper and into the net, giving France a 2-0 victory over Uruguay.
The 1998 champions will next face Belgium on Tuesday in St. Petersburg.
Griezmann’s shot in the 61st minute went right into the hands of Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera. But the ball popped off his palms and looped over his head and into the net.
Raphael Varane gave France the lead with a header in the 40th minute.
NBA
LAS VEGAS (AP) – Tony Parker is done in San Antonio.
Parker agreed to a two-year, $10 million contract with the Charlotte Hornets, ending a 17-year run with the Spurs. And he’s not the only veteran on the move, with Oklahoma City and Carmelo Anthony having mutually agreed they will part ways and Dwight Howard set to sign with the Washington Wizards once he clears waivers.
All of those deals were confirmed to The Associated Press by people involved in the negotiations. Each of the people spoke on condition of anonymity because none of the moves were finalized – but the Parker move was confirmed by Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who thanked his now-former point guard in a statement released by the team.
Anthony has likely played his last game for the Oklahoma City Thunder – with the sides having mutually decided that he will not be on the team next season. It remains unclear how that departure will actually happen, as in whether it will be through a buyout, the Thunder waiving him or a trade.
Howard started the day on Charlotte’s roster, then was traded to Brooklyn – a deal agreed to days ago, but one that couldn’t be completed until the league’s offseason moratorium on player movement ended. The Nets will buy him out, which will pave the way for Howard to eventually sign with the Wizards.
BASEBALL
DETROIT (AP) – Jordan Zimmermann denied Bartolo Colon’s bid at baseball history, striking out 11 batters in eight innings as the Detroit Tigers beat the Texas Rangers 3-1.
Colon was trying to become the winningest Latin-American pitcher in major league history. He remains tied with Dennis Martinez with 245 career victories.
He pitched well Will Hernandez Game Jersey , allowing three runs – including homers by James McCann and JaCoby Jones – in an eight-inning complete game, but Zimmermann was better. The Tigers’ right-hander allowed one run and four hits and struck out 10 or more for the first time since his no-hitter for Washington against Florida on Sept. 28, 2014.
AUTO RACING
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) – Justin Haley started last and crossed the finish line first.
It would have been a stellar run in just his second Xfinity Series race – if only he could have kept two tires above the double-yellow line at Daytona International Speedway.
Kyle Larson was declared the winner of the Firecracker 250 when Haley’s late pass in overtime was ruled illegal.
A full-time driver in the Trucks Series, Haley used an aggressive and impressive move to complete a stunning pass that looked as if it would lead him to victory lane. But Haley inadvertently crossed the yellow line around the inside of the famed track, and NASCAR ruled it improper. up 18th.
Larson edged Elliott Sadler at the line, giving the Cup Series regular three wins in four starts this year in the second-tier series.
GOLF
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) – Kelly Kraft shot a 7-under 63 in the second round of A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier to take a one-stroke lead over first-round leader Webb Simpson and Anirban Lahiri.
Kraft posted his career-best round at the Old White TPC in West Virginia. He was at 13-under 127.
Lahiri overcame poor play off the tee to shoot a career-low 61. Simpson made five birdies after a lousy start and shot 3-under 67. Both were at 12 under.
Jason Kokrak shot 64 and was at 11 under. Whee Kim of South Korea and Harold Varner III were at 10 under. Kim shot 68 and Varner shot 64.
ONEIDA, Wis. (AP) – Sei Young Kim birdied her first four holes to shoot a 7-under 65 and surge to the lead after the second round of the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic.
Kim was at 16-under 128 – tied for the tour’s lowest of the season – and four shots ahead of Yu Liu.
Jump-started by an eagle on the par-5 third, Liu made a big move with the day’s best round with a 63 to get to 12 under and grab sole possession of second place.
Defending champion Katherine Kirk, who led after shooting 10-under 62 in the first round, couldn’t get her putting going, though Authentic DJ Chark Jersey , and settled for 71. She is one of five players who are five shots off the pace at 133.
Sung Hyun Park, who won her second career major at last week’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and could have moved to No. 1 in the world rankings with a win, missed the cut by five shots at 1-over 1 The Buffalo Bills' long-term future in western New York was secured when Terry and Kim Pegula purchased the franchise following the death of Hall of Fame owner Ralph Wilson in 2014.
Where the team will play its home games 鈥?at its current stadium in suburban Orchard Park or at a new downtown Buffalo facility 鈥?within the next decade is the question.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell touched on the topic at league meetings in Florida on Wednesday by saying the Pegulas are "at a very early stage" in assessing their options. Goodell then left the details to be announced by the owners when they are ready to share them with the community.
On Tuesday, Terry Pegula said, "We talk about that heavily internally, but not publicly," when asked if the Bills would consider using the opt-out clause in their lease in two years to explore a new stadium site.
The Bills later clarified Pegula's comment by saying he was referring to long-term stadium plans and adding that the team had no plans to opt out of the lease, which expires in the summer of 2023.
The Bills maintain they are early in their planning process and have not ruled out any option. They're also aware that time will become an issue in determining whether the next lease negotiations will focus on a long- or short-term agreement.
The questions come down to building a new stadium, either downtown or near the Bills' existing site; renovating their current home, New Era Field; and how much public money would be spent.
One possibility is pairing a new stadium and Buffalo's need for a new convention center, which would ease concerns over taxpayer money being spent on a stand-alone sports facility.
A new stadium alone would cost approximately $1 billion.
Staying at New Era Field, which opened in 1973, also wouldn't come cheap.
A stadium site selection study conducted by AECOM Technical Services in 2014 projected it would cost $540 million for the next series of renovations Tyler Naquin Jersey , including structural improvements and rebuilding the stadium's third deck. The study based its estimates on what it cost the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs to extensively renovate their facilities over the previous decade.
And that cost is on top of the $130 million in renovations that took place four years ago, and the $18 million the Pegulas are spending on club seat upgrades this year.
The next step would involve the Bills hiring a firm to conduct a feasibility study to identify sites, costs and what best suits a franchise based in one of the NFL's smallest markets.
The AECOM study was commissioned by New York state 鈥?not the Bills 鈥?at an uncertain time during the sale process. Concerned that someone out of town would purchase the Bills and consider relocating them, Gov. Andrew Cuomo had the study conducted to provide prospective owners a list of options of what the region had to offer.
The relocation fear ended once the Pegulas, who own the NHL's Sabres and have established a corporate base in Buffalo, emerged as the front-runners.
The AECOM study can at least still serve as a guide.
Of the three downtown stadium sites identified, one is no longer an option because it has since been developed.
The site that drew the most attention is a large two-block parcel of street-level parking lots located in the city's emerging Cobblestone entertainment district. The site is located a block east of the Sabres' arena and within two blocks of HarborCenter, a $200 million hotel and hockey entertainment facility built by the Pegulas, and the headquarters of Pegula Sports and Entertainment.
One person directly involved in discussions three years ago, after the Pegulas purchased the team, told The Associated Press in January that the Bills were focused on building a downtown stadium, and that the Cobblestone site was regarded as "one of the prime target areas." The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the talks were private.
It's unclear whether those plans have changed.
At the time, the state was tentatively committed to funding the necessary infrastructure upgrades Authentic Jonathan Cooper Jersey , such as expanding roadways and access ramps from nearby Interstate 190. The site is also close to public transportation. It's a five-minute drive from the Peace Bridge border crossing into southern Ontario, a few blocks from the Amtrak Rail station, and within about 15,000 parking spaces.
Developer Carl Paladino, who owns a large number of properties in the area, called the Cobblestone site "the most logical place to put it (a stadium)," in an interview with the AP in January.
Kim Pegula outlined the challenges the Bills faced during an interview with the AP in 2014.
"You only get to build a stadium once, so we just want to make sure we take our time and do the right thing," she said. "We just want to make sure that when the time comes that we have done all our homework and have the best stadium that we can for Buffalo."
The Pegulas have since backed off discussing stadium plans by calling them premature, and added they're satisfied with the most recent renovations.

JuJu Smith-Schuster is an open book. Unless you ask the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver about the left knee issue that's forced him to spend most of the offseason watching workouts instead of participating in them.
"You can talk to Mike Tomlin about that Mike Hughes Youth Jersey ," Smith-Schuster said Wednesday.
Smith-Schuster described the injury as something that built up over time and came to a point where he realized he couldn't simply hope it disappeared on his own, so he got it checked out. He offered no details but stressed he will be fully recovered when the team reports to training camp at Saint Vincent College on July 25.
"For sure," he said. "Especially when you get this five-week break. I think I'll be ready."
The AFC North champions need him to be. Smith-Schuster heads into his second season firmly entrenched as the No. 2 receiver behind All-Pro Antonio Brown after the Steelers dealt talented but mercurial Martavis Bryant to Oakland during the NFL draft. Bryant did little to hide his frustration when Smith-Schuster bypassed him on the depth chart.
It's a relationship that plays in stark contrast 鈥?at least in mid-June 鈥?to the way Smith-Schuster has welcomed second-round pick James Washington into the fold.
"We kind of have the same body type, he's playing inside and out (like me)," Smith-Schuster said. "Super excited to see what he can do."
It's a label Smith-Schuster might as well place on himself after becoming a revelation in more ways than one in 2017. He caught 58 passes for 917 yards and seven touchdowns, earned respect in the locker room for his fearless blocking and a social media sensation for his intricate and highly shareable touchdown celebrations. Hide and Seek anyone?
Yet it's the memory of the final touchdown he scored last season that will stick with him. He hauled in a 4-yard toss from Ben Roethlisberger with 1 second left in a 45-42 playoff loss to Jacksonville. All it did was pretty up the final score. By then, the game had already been decided and a season filled with typically high aspirations was over.
"I was 'Whatever' about it http://www.cowboysauthorizedshops.com/authentic-jihad-ward-jersey ," Smith-Schuster said. "Like I wanted to celebrate but what is there to celebrate. We took the 'L.'"
Smith-Schuster returned to his native Southern California for a few weeks in the offseason, where the 21-year-old discovered his profile had risen considerably since the time he left. Part of that is by design. Smith-Schuster's social media feeds are a glimpse into a young athlete attempting to live their best life at all times.
He's playing Fortnite. He's at Coachella . He's hanging with his French bulldog Boujee . He's chilling with his family. He spent time at EA Sports last weekend getting a glimpse at the latest edition of the "Madden" football franchise, a version that includes plenty of digital post-touchdown antics by the guy in black-and-gold wearing No. 19. Smith-Schuster figures it's a sign of things to come.
"Got to be No. 1 in celebrations," he said. "But that's going to come after we take care of business though."
Therein lies the challenge for Smith-Schuster. He is no longer an unknown quantity. And he's passed the title as "NFL's Youngest Player" to Buffalo Bills rookie linebacker Tremaine Edmunds. More will be expected of him on the field, and he's well aware there are greater demands of his time off it. Finding balance will be a vital part of his progress.
Brown appeared to reach a breaking point of sorts on Tuesday when he vaguely talked about outside "pressure" during a rambling meeting with reporters. There's none of that on Smith-Schuster, at least not yet. It may come at some point.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, the elder statesman in Pittsburgh's wide receiver room Ronnie Harrison Jersey Jaguars , isn't concerned about Smith-Schuster's maturation process 鈥?provided he attacks things with the right perspective.
"(I) just let him know that A: you wouldn't have all that stuff if it wasn't for football,'" Heyward-Bey said. "Yes, you've got to have the personality but if you're not the guy scoring touchdowns, making big plays, nobody cares about you so to speak. So if he keeps football first and understands you've got to work harder and always improve on your game each and every year, I think he'll be fine."
Smith-Schuster won't lack for opportunities considering the extra attention Brown and All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell are sure to attract every week. The way he figures it, that's why he's playing in the first place.
"I mean Authentic Jay Bruce Jersey , I want it," Smith-Schuster said. "I love it. This is why I'm here. This is why I love the game so whatever they put on my shoulders, I'm going to carry and do what I can do for this year."
The Green Bay Packers have signed free agent offensive lineman Byron Bell, adding a versatile veteran to beef up depth.
The 29-year-old Bell played last season with the Dallas Cowboys, appearing in 12 games and making two starts at left tackle. He missed the entire 2016 season after injuring his ankle during offseason workouts with the Tennessee Titans.
The Packers released lineman Jacob Alsadek, an undrafted rookie free agent out of Arizona, to make room for Bell on Wednesday.
Green Bay is short on experienced depth up front. Starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga missed the second half of the 2017 season with a knee injury Taijuan Walker Jersey , while right guard Jahri Evans is a free agent after one season with the Packers.
Injuries also kept out the Packers' top two backup tackles, Jason Spriggs and Kyle Murphy, for much of 2017.
Bell started all 16 games for Tennessee in 2016, playing at left guard and both tackle positions. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent with Carolina in 2011 out of New Mexico.
Bell started 56 of 62 games for the Panthers over the next four seasons, playing both tackle positions.

Authentic Carson Wentz Jersey . Renneys club has just five wins in the last 17 games (5-11-1) and will return home for two games after their tilt with the Sharks. Edmonton will then hit the road again for a seven-game trek from Dec. 26-Jan. 7. Edmonton and San Jose are playing the first of four meetings this season. The Sharks won three of four matchups with the Oilers a year ago and have prevailed in nine of the previous 11 encounters with Edmonton. The Oilers ended a four-game road losing streak in this series with aa 5-2 victory on Jan. Authentic Randall Cunningham Jersey. 13, 2010. The Sharks got their six-game homestand off to a promising start and will try for back-to-back wins for the first time in almost a month when they entertain Edmonton tonight at HP Pavilion. The Sharks ended a three-game slide with a 5-4 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday in the back end of a home-and-home set. Brent Burns, Joe Pavelski and Logan Couture scored in a 4:29 span of the third period, while Ryane Clowe and Michal Handzus also scored for San Jose, which won for the third time in 10 tries (3-5-2) and improved to 9-6-1 at home this season. "I think we decided it was our turn to come back. It is a big win for us," Couture said. Antti Niemi made 23 saves in a winning effort. The Sharks havent recorded two straight wins since a four-game run from Nov. 17-23 and are tied with Phoenix for second place in the Pacific Division. Dallas currently leads the division. San Jose will also welcome the Lightning, Kings, Ducks and Canucks to town on this current residency. There's always energy in the bench press room at the NFL scouting combine when players grip the crossbar and begin pumping the 225 pounds of free weights as everybody nearby counts the repetitions.
But never like this.
Even Shaquem Griffin Cheap Dante Pettis Jersey , the one-handed do-it-all defender from Central Florida and a late invitee to the combine, didn't expect to do what he did Saturday with his prosthetic left hand .
His personal max was 11 reps, but he had a much more modest benchmark in mind here.
"My goal was six," Griffin acknowledged.
Griffin clipped his prosthetic hand onto the bar, then leaned back.
This wasn't his brother spotting him 鈥?the one who he was sure used to surreptitiously help him 鈥?but this new spotter was hyping him up and the crowd joined in as did his fellow linebacker prospects.
"Everybody in the stands was hyping me up. I got the guys I'm here with hyping me up. It felt amazing," Griffin said. "I was ready to go. I was ready to attack it."
His chest heaved.
And the counting began.
One, two, three.
"I said, this thing feels like 135. Let's go!" Griffin recounted. "And I just started cranking them out."
Four, five, six.
That was easy.
Seven, eight, nine.
The crowd was hollering by now.
Ten, 11 鈥?this was his personal best.
Twelve.
A new high.
Thirteen ... 14 ... 15 ... 16.
The crowd was roaring is disbelief.
Seventeen.
Can this really be happening?
Eighteen!
That's one more than his twin brother Jordan Howard Jersey Youth , Shaquille, managed at last year's combine before the Seattle Seahawks selected the speedy cornerback in the third round of the NFL draft.
Nineteen!
One more ... 20!
"I got chill bumps watching him do 20 reps," said NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock. "I literally choked up a little bit watching him do that and I can't wait to watch him tomorrow."
On Sunday, Griffin will run the 40-yard dash, do some quickness drills and some on-field testing at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Griffin was 4 years old when doctors amputated his left hand a day after his mother found him in the kitchen attempting to cut off his jelly-like fingers, which were in scorching pain whenever he touched anything, the result of amniotic band syndrome, a congenital birth defect.
Despite having just one hand, he kept up with his twin brother on and off the field.
As dozens of reporters and photographers gathered around him Saturday, Griffin said, "I thought I was going to walk over here and it was going to be like three people."
Not after becoming the best feel-good story of the combine so far 鈥?and by far.
"It was amazing, hearing the crowd and having the juices flowing, I mean I felt it," Griffin said. "I didn't know I had it in me."
Griffin said he's mind-set is he always has to do more than those around him to impress coaches.
"I always hold myself to a higher standard than a lot of people just because if we're running drills Jaguars Authentic Jerseys , if I drop a ball, they're going to like, 'Well, he dropped the ball because he has one hand.' If anybody else drops a ball, they're going to be like, 'Well, maybe it was a bad ball,'" Griffin said.
As a freshman, he couldn't even lift the 45-pound bar, but then he was fitted with the pros ethic and his mom cried when he did his first pull-up.
"It's amazing to see how far I've come from not being able to bench the bar to throwing up 20 reps of 225 and being able to compete with the best here," said Griffin, the 2017 American Athletic Conference defensive player of the year.
Griffin, who played D-line, linebacker and safety at the Senior Bowl Sam Darnold Jersey Elite , said he's going to try to join the defensive back drills Sunday after doing his work with the linebackers.
"I feel like I could just start curling 225 right now and I'm pretty sure come tomorrow, it's going to be adrenalin just going crazy. I'm excited about tomorrow. If I feel this good doing the bench press, I can't wait to see how I am tomorrow."
Griffin said he hopes he's an inspiration to kids everywhere.
"If I can inspire one, and they can inspire another and (soon we'll) inspire a thousand," Griffin said.
As evidenced by the way they were cheering him on in the bench press, he's inspiring his fellow draft prospects at the combine.
"That's kind of cool when you have guys at that top level, the best of the best, and they come and talk to you about you motivating them and inspiring them," Griffin said. "I feel really good hearing that from them. It motivates me to do more and keep pushing when you've got guys all over the place, the top in the country, and they're proud of me.
"That was an amazing feeling, and it makes you enjoy it that much more."
The New York Giants have agreed to a contract with veteran running back Jonathan Stewart, who was released by the Carolina Panthers after 10 seasons.
The Giants announced the deal on Tuesday night. Terms were not disclosed.
The 30-year-old Stewart is Carolina's all-time leading rusher with 7,318 yards http://www.packersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-marquez-valdes-scantling-jersey , and his 51 rushing touchdowns rank second in team history.
He immediately becomes the most accomplished running back on New York's roster. Orleans Darkwa, who led the Giants in rushing last season, is a free agent. Wayne Gallman and Paul Perkins are also on the roster.
"I am very pleased that we were able to make Jonathan a New York Football Giant," general manager Dave Gettleman, who previously had the same job with Carolina, said in a statement. "He is a quality runner with power and speed and brings a veteran, professional presence to our locker room. He's a terrific addition for us at this time."
Stewart was the 13th overall selection in the 2008 draft. His best season was in 2009, when he rushed for 1,133 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The Denver Broncos held linebacker Shane Ray out of workouts Monday due to a sore wrist.
Ray broke his left wrist in July and underwent three surgeries that caused him to miss the opening six games in 2017. He had one sack over the next eight contests before going back on injured reserve.
Denver coach Vance Joseph said Ray's wrist was irritated and the team is "taking it slow. Just being smart with guys. It's the spring."
Absent from the optional workouts were players such as pass rusher Von Miller Isaac Yiadom Jersey Elite , along with receivers Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Joseph wasn't concerned with their absence, saying, "they've been here all year. We're good. We coached the guys who were here today."
Willie O’Ree didn’t know he had broken the NHL’s color barrier when he made his debut in 1958. Martin Brodeur couldn’t see the three Stanley Cup titles and jaw-dropping career ahead when he played his first game in goal for the New Jersey Devils in 1992 and, a year later, Gary Bettman didn’t know he would end up growing the league by leaps and bounds over the next 25 years as its commissioner.
All three will go into the Hockey Hall of Fame together as the headliners of a trailblazing class of 2018 that also includes diminutive forward Martin St. Louis, four-time gold-medal-winning Canadian women’s national team star Jayna Hefford and Russian Alexander Yakushev.
O’Ree was the first black player in the NHL, Bettman has overseen the league’s expansion into a multibillion-dollar industry and Brodeur piled up the most wins and shutouts of any goaltender in NHL history.
”This is an exciting class to be around because everyone has tried to take their game to the next level,” Bettman said Tuesday. ”I really wasn’t focused on whether this was happening now; I was really focused on whether Willie O’Ree was going to be selected because that to me was a very important act for the Hall to take.”
Bettman has been commissioner since 1993, during which time the NHL has expanded its footprint across North America and increased from 24 to 31 teams. In that time, the league has gone from a $437 million business to one with almost $5 billion in revenue. It’s been an occasionally bruising ride Ryan Jensen Jersey Elite , with three work stoppages, including one that canceled the entire 2004-05 season and led to the salary cap. But Bettman has been nothing if not a strong leader, and all-time great Wayne Gretzky said the efforts to help each club compete have made the game stronger.
”His leadership and love for hockey is very evident,” Gretzky said. ”Hockey has become more entertaining year after year, thanks in part to his passion for the game.”
Brodeur lifted the Stanley Cup three times with the Devils between 1995 and 2003. He leads all goalies with 691 wins and 125 shutouts in 1,266 regular-season games with the Devils and St. Louis Blues, and he won the Vezina Trophy four times. He won 113 playoff games and had a 2.02 postseason goals-against average. Brodeur also scored two regular-season goals and another in the playoffs – more than any other goalie.
The Montreal native was the last real standup goaltender as the position moved almost exclusively to the butterfly technique, and his puck-handling prowess led the NHL to institute the trapezoid behind the net as a way to increase scoring.
”You play your whole career and you don’t expect to get this phone call, but when it does, it definitely does feel pretty good Nick Chubb Browns Jersey ,” said Brodeur, the Blues assistant GM who was sitting alongside Hall of Fame defenseman Larry Robinson at prospect camp in St. Louis when he got the news. ”I want to thank the committee for putting me on so early.”
While Brodeur and St. Louis were first-ballot selections, O’Ree had been waiting decades for this honor since making history at the Montreal Forum on Jan. 18, 1958, with the Boston Bruins. He was 32.
A native of Fredericton, New Brunswick, in Eastern Canada, O’Ree finished with four goals and 10 assists in 45 NHL games during the 1957-58 and 1960-61 seasons despite being 95 percent blind in his right eye. O’Ree was the first black player in the NHL but he will be the third inducted into the Hall of Fame, joining Edmonton Oilers goalie Grant Fuhr and Canadian women’s national team captain Angela James.
”Willie paved the path for the rest of us,” Fuhr said. ”In that way he is a true builder of the game. If you look up the word `builder Authentic Anthony Averett Jersey ,’ there should be a picture of Willie. He is the Jackie Robinson of hockey.”
Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs said O’Ree receiving this honor was long overdue, adding ”Willie has been a tremendous figure in our game both on and off the ice for over 60 years.”
Now 82, O’Ree works for the NHL as diversity ambassador, helping with its ”Hockey is for Everyone” initiative. There are now about two dozen black players currently on NHL rosters.
”I knew that there were going to be more black players not only playing pro but eventually getting into the National Hockey League,” O’Ree said. ”Now there’s 31 teams in the league and you can see that the black players and the players of color that are playing there, they’re there because they have the skills and the ability to be in the league.”
St. Louis was a 5-foot-8 winger who put up 1,033 points in 1,134 regular-season games over 17 seasons, winning the Cup with Tampa Bay in 2004 and an Olympic gold medal with Canada in 2014.

Our aim is to return to Europe, we are second so we are in the right spot." Juventus almost doubled its lead shortly before halftime when Tevez rolled a tantalizing ball across the face of goal but no one could get on the end of it for the tap-in. Leading the Bills to their first playoff appearance in 18 years wasn't enough for Tyrod Taylor to secure his long-term future in Buffalo.
The Bills are starting over at quarterback after agreeing to trade their three-year starter to the Cleveland Browns on Friday David Dahl Colorado Rockies Jersey , according to two people with direct knowledge of the trade. Cleveland is sending its first pick in the third round to Buffalo.
They spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because NFL rules prohibit trades from being announced until next week when free agency opens and the league's new calendar year begins.
The Browns added a proven starter in Taylor a year after going 0-16 on a day they also traded quarterback DeShone Kizer to the Green Bay Packers.
The Bills, by comparison, elected to move on from a quarterback who didn't fit their long-term plans.
The Bills were preparing to release Taylor a year ago, before he agreed to restructure his contract by reducing it from a five-year to a two-year term.
General manager Brandon Beane and coach Sean McDermott provided no assurances over the past two months that Taylor would remain the team's starter entering next season.
The trade was made a week before the Bills were due to pay Taylor a $6 million roster bonus.
Taylor's departure leaves the Bills with a significant hole at the position with Nathan Peterman 鈥?a fifth-round draft pick last year 鈥?the only quarterback left on their roster.
One option is adding one of the many experienced quarterbacks expected to be available once the free agency period opens.
And then there's the growing possibility of the Bills selecting one in the draft in April. With the addition of Cleveland's third-round selection, Buffalo now has two picks in each of the first three rounds, including the 21st and 22nd overall.
The large haul of draft picks provides Beane plenty of assets to use in trades in the event he elects to move up higher in the draft order.
Beane said at the NFL's rookie combine in Indianapolis 10 days ago that he planned to meet with every quarterback prospect available to be drafted.
The Browns were expected to target a quarterback in free agency, but instead have landed the dynamic Taylor. Cleveland is still expected to take a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft.
Earlier Cheap Mike Gesicki Jersey , the Browns worked out a trade with Miami for three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry.
Though noted for his mobility, Taylor was never able to overcome questions about his deficiencies as a passer and performing in the clutch in posting a 23-21 record in Buffalo.
Following two consecutive losses that dropped Buffalo's record to 5-4 last season, McDermott made what he called a "calculated risk" to bench Taylor in favor of the raw and untested Peterman. The decision backfired immediately after Peterman threw five interceptions in the first half of a 54-24 loss at the Los Angeles Chargers.
Taylor regained the starting job the following week and finished the season winning three of his final five starts, with both losses coming against New England. He then went 17 of 37 for 134 yards passing and an interception before being sidelined by a concussion in the final minutes of Buffalo's 10-3 loss to Jacksonville in an AFC wild-card playoff game.
As recently as the rookie combine, McDermott hedged when asked to provide Taylor a vote of confidence.
McDermott said that while cutting Taylor was not part of the team's current plans, he wouldn't rule out trading the quarterback.
Taylor's mobility was his strength. He set Bills records for yards rushing among quarterbacks in each of his first two seasons.
He was, however Buccaneers Carlton Davis Jersey , inconsistent in the passing attack in drawing criticism for being hesitant in the pocket and failing to find open receivers downfield. Including his one playoff start, Taylor was 2-14 when attempting 30 or more passes.
Taylor was at least an efficient quarterback by throwing 51 touchdowns versus just 14 interceptions in 44 games with Buffalo.
The Bills finished last season 29th in total yards and 31st in yards passing.
Not all of Buffalo's offensive struggles could be blamed entirely on Taylor given the Bills' patchwork and injury-depleted group of receivers. Jordan Matthews and Kelvin Benjamin, both acquired in trades, missed significant stretches because of injuries.
The quarterback change comes at a time McDermott has shuffled his offensive coaching staff. Rick Dennison was fired after just one season as coordinator and replaced by Brian Daboll, who spent last season overseeing national champion Alabama's offense. Daboll also has extensive NFL experience, including offensive coordinator jobs with the Browns, Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins.
Taylor signed with Buffalo as a free agent in 2015 after spending his first four NFL seasons serving as Joe Flacco's backup in Baltimore. He then emerged as the Bills season-opening starter after winning a three-way competition between Matt Cassel and returning starter EJ Manuel.
AP Sports Writer Tom Withers in Cleveland contributed to this report. The New York Jets signed former Lions linebacker Brandon Copeland and re-signed defensive lineman Xavier Cooper on Monday.
Copeland missed last season after tearing a pectoral muscle during the preseason. He had 30 tackles and one forced fumble in 32 games the previous two seasons with the Lions.
The 26-year-old Copeland is expected to serve as a backup on defense and be a key part of the Jets’ special teams unit.
”Too many different levels of excitement to put into words http://www.coltsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-nyheim-hines-jersey ,” Copeland told the Jets’ website. ”Coming off of injured reserve, having to sit every Sunday, Monday and Thursday and watching other people play, I’m first and foremost excited to get back to the game that I love.”
He signed with Baltimore as an undrafted free agent out of Penn in 2013 and spent time later that season on Tennessee’s practice squad. After signing with Orlando of the Arena Football League in 2015, Copeland impressed Detroit after participating in the NFL Veterans Combine. His grandfather, Roy Hilton, played for the Baltimore Colts against the Jets in the Super Bowl in 1969.
”He played defensive end against Joe Namath and all those guys Preston Brown Color Rush Jersey ,” Copeland said. ”I know he’s going to be very proud of his grandson and now my job is to continue to make him proud.”
Cooper was not tendered as a restricted free agent, but was brought back to serve as a rotational defensive lineman. He had 16 tackles and one sack in eight games, and his play increased when Muhammad Wilkerson was benched at the end of last season.
Cooper was a third-round pick by Cleveland out of Washington State in 2015. He has also spent time with San Francisco, and has 56 career tackles and three sacks.
